In 2019, Venezuela experienced a series of blackouts resulting in numerous societal and economic costs.
Shortages of food, medicine, and water shortages quickly emerged resulting in hunger, sickness, and untimely deaths.
The blackout also crippled telecommunications, internet capacity, oil exportations, gas stations, and hospital equipment.
