The Dangers of Inaction
Loss of Life
Economic Damage
Prepping and Survivalism
Former CIA Director James R. Woolsey testified before a Senate Committee in July 2015 that certain kinds of damage to our electric grid could be irreparable for many months.
He estimated that after one year two-thirds to ninety percent of US could die.
The functioning of all our critical infrastructure depends on access to electric power.
We have all witnessed during the Covid-19 pandemic that the cost of responding to even weeks of interrupted economic activity can cost trillions.
The disruption from loss of power would be far greater than it has been during Covid-19 or the aftermath of 9/11.
Seeing the potential loss of life and livelihoods from various calamities, families across the country have stockpiled supplies, assembled “bug-out” escape kits and fortified their existing homes or rural escape locations.
While their concerns are valid, for the vast majority of Americans this would be infeasible, and even for those with the resources it would eventually put them in a “kill-or-be-killed” situation.
Instead, we advocate investing the resources needed to make such eventualities far less likely.
